Meet our Multidisciplinary Team

Dr. Victoria Bird started her career as an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Miami and nearby Veterans Administration Hospital -with an emphasis on Prostate cancer care. 

 

Later, she joined the University of Florida's Department of Urology, College of Medicine, as an Assistant Professor and as an Affiliate faculty at the College of Engineering at the University of Florida.  

 

Dr. Bird believes in personalized patient centered medicine and has received multiple patient care awards.   Her research has been presented nationally and internationally. 

 

She is published in a number of scientific journals with emphasis  in prostate cancer, testosterone physiology, kidney stones, and infections of the urinary tract.

Ms. Pamela Patton is a Board Certified PA with a career span of more than four
decades at the University of Florida and a Distinguished Fellow of the American
Academy of Physician Assistants. She served as the first endowed William M. Hall
Associate Professor and Director of Admissions of UF’s School of Physician
Assistant Studies between 2014-2021. While there she remained clinically active
providing medical care to patients at the rural ACORN Medical Clinic in Brooker, FL.

Ms. Patton previously was a member of UF’s Department of Surgery in the Kidney,
Pancreas, Liver Transplant & Hepatobiliary Surgery division. She has chaired or been a member of numerous UF Health Shands Hospital and Transplant committees. She
currently serves as an appointed member of the federal Advisory Committee on
Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry in the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services.

 

Ms. Patton’s credentials include a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, Clinical Director of
UF’s Kidney and Pancreas Transplant programs, and Principal Investigator roles
involving multiple clinical trials. Contributions include clinical database design,

publications, and the care of hundreds of patients surrounding their transplant
surgeries.

Dr. Charles Perkins obtained his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine and his PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Perkins is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and is dedicated to quality care in all aspects of oncology. 

 

Dr. Perkins has extensively researched the use of DNA repair mechanisms as potential biomarkers for predicting response to treatment and as potential therapeutic intervention targets. The goal of his research is to offer individualized treatment for cancer patients based upon their unique characteristics.

Dr. Perkins and his wife are new to the Gainesville area, but are looking forward to becoming a part of the community. His interests include music, golf, fitness, kayaking and piloting.

Dr. Sean McLaughlin is a certified Diplomat of the American Board of Urology.

Dr. McLaughlin grew up in Ocala, Florida. He received his undergraduate education at the University of Florida and his medical education at the University of Florida. He completed his surgical and urological residencies at the Univeristy of North Carolina Chapel Hill.  He sees patients at Urologic Surgeons.

Dr. McLaughlin specializes in laparocopic, endoscopic and Robotic urologic surgery. He is a member os the American Urological Association and a proctor for the daVinci Robotic prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy.

​

Dr McLaughlin enjoys traveling with his wife. He also plays golf and tennis and is an avid fan of University of Florida sports.

Dr. Allison Grow attended Stanford School of Medicine.   After working with cancer patients on a surgical oncology rotation, she discovered the discipline of radiation oncology, which allowed her to combine patient care with her past interest in physics.

 

Dr. Grow returned home to Florida to help launch the CyberKnife Cancer Center in Jacksonville. Now a part of the team at The Cancer Center, Dr. Grow is glad to be a part of a medical community as strong as the one surrounding North Florida Regional and is excited to be a part of helping to make the powerful technique of radiosurgery widely available in Gainesville and throughout North Central Florida.
